This guide was reprinted in April 2010 and minor amendments were made.


All the Aires Spain and Portugal is unique as there is no other guide with this level of detail in any other language.

Vicarious Books published All the Aires Spain and Portugal in 2009. Chris and Meli, the Directors of Vicarious Books, carried out the research in the autumn 2008. This guide was reprinted in April 2010 and minor amendments were made. Customer submissions confirmed that more than half of the Aires listed were still as described.

All the Aires Spain and Portugal is an A5 paperback printed on high quality paper with a durable, laminated cover. The cover has a foldout symbol key in six languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French and German. This guide not only includes all the Aires, but also all the LPG outlets in Spain and a good selection in Portugal.

All the Aires Spain and Portugal is laid out in five sections:
Introduction

LPG/GPL Portugal
LPG/GLP Spain
At the beginning of each section there is a map with the Aires/LPG indicated.


There are 46 listing in the Portuguese Aires section, four of which are good beach side parking areas, four of which are camping Aires, and six of which are 'Barragems' (inland reservoirs). All the other listings are municipally provided, serviced motorhome stopovers that are mostly free.


The Spanish Aires section has 91 listings, one of these is daytime only parking and six are motorway services that have motorhome service points, though overnight parking is not recommended. Seven entries are motorhome camping Aires, all the other listings are municipally provided, serviced motorhome stopovers that are mostly free.


LPG in Spain
This section is going to be invaluable to anyone with refillable gas tanks. LPG stations are very rare in Spain, mostly being located at Repsol gas bottle refilling depots that are tucked away in old industrial estates. 15 LPG refilling points have been listed for Spain, all have been inspected and photographed as can be seen by clicking the link to look inside the guide at the top or bottom of this page. We lost more time searching for these LPG outlets in Spain than any other part of the research, thankfully we have now provided good directions and GPS coordinates taken on-site. We also identified those LPG stations that could be accessed by the large RV's.


LPG in Portugal
Thankfully LPG is widely available at fuel stations in Portugal. We have provided full details on 23 stations, most of which are near the coast. This is enough to get by with, but we look forward to receiving details of new LPG stations from users of this guide.
